Costello-Events > Ah, life in the (African) city. Cows making their daily trek home, across the busy street with no notice so motos must swerve to avoid them. Ha, ha!
Costello-Events > Our market in Yagoua. Notice the woman walking with the wood on her head, all the bright colored fabric/clothes, etc. That's our Texaco station in the background. This is one activity women do everyday, walk to town with their goods, then sit there until everything is sold, then walk back to their home or village.
Costello-Events > The inner part of our market with concrete little cubby-type boutiques that sell soaps, lotions, cookies, flour, eggs, sugar, spices, etc. On the far left you can somewhat see the piles of bright colored spices women sell.
Costello-Events > A street in Maroua. Lots of people, bars, and at night the street food vendors.
Costello-Events > Yep, the life of a man in Cameroon sure is tough. This is a very typical sight, men sitting around in the shade talking (or often sleeping). You can also see the plastic mats that are very common, used as seats and rugs in homes too.
Costello-Events > Our hood! In the middle of the pic, the yellow colored wall is the entrance to our concession which includes our home and three others, each with our own walled yard.
Costello-Events > The post office in Yagoua.
Costello-Events > How things get transported here. When we bought our fridge we had someone push it in a cart to the bus station. These boys/men are called poussers (that's the French word for push, creative huh?)
Costello-Events > An Cameroonian "quickie mart." You can fuel up and buy your powdered milk, canned tomato paste, or laundry detergent all at once!
