This was the scene at every stop the train made...people selling all kinds of different things by the side of the train. Even at 4am! All you have to do is stick your head out the window, yell for what you want, and someone will bring it to you! The long skinny things are baton manioch...kind of a tasteless thing the consistency of a scallop. Erin says they're good dipped in mayo...I'm not so sure!

Costello-Events > Due to a little mixup, we did not have reservations for a couchette (cabin with beds) on the train from Yaounde to N'Gaoundere. Instead, we sat at a table in the dining car for the 18 hour trip. I have to say, we are troopers!

Costello-Events > The scenery and landscapes were BEAUTIFUL! Almost the whole country looked so lush and tropical because it was the rainy season. It reminded us a lot of southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.

Costello-Events > Random cattle, goats, sheep, donkeys, and pigs were all over the place! We had to weave through a herd of cattle one time while on motos...they create natural road blocks! :) A lot of time little kids were tending the herds and driving them home...too cute!
